Much to my amazement, I actually got my own bike this afternoon! (Isn't it pretty?) I took the rider safety course last fall and passed my test, and I did get my license. But I haven't driven a bike since the class. My husband's bike is much too big, and I have been worried that I would lose control of his bike, crash, and then die~because my hubby would kill me for messing up his baby. :)
This one seems to fit me well. It's a Kawasaki Vulcan 800. Big enough that I can drive it for a long time (and keep up with my husband), but small enough that I feel comfortable on it. We took it up to the high school parking lot so that I could try it out. Wouldn't you know, I dumped the thing already! Luckily, I was stopped at the time, so it wasn't too bad. Not sure what I did~think I might have taken the brake off with it still in gear, and went over. Scraped my elbow and bruised my knee, but otherwise ok. Embarrassed and a bit sore. Hopefully, now that I have that out of the way, it will be better and I'll be less nervous.
* As I was typing this, my computer crashed. (No crashing anything more today, please!)
While I was waiting for it to reboot, I went out to ride the bike again.*
Very pleased to report that I took the bike out, by myself I might add, and went around the block a few times. No crashing, no dumping of the bike! Success!! Ha!
