Doctor Who Series 6

I've watched The Impossible Astronaut twice now, and to be honest, I think I need one more viewing to really take it all in. First impression: lots of WTF moments (the first being BBCAmerica's Amy intro). Second impression: Overall good, with still too many WTF moments! However, since there were only a few episodes from season 5 that I actually could be bothered to re-watch, this series is a huge improvement for me.
I think the biggest change for me between this series and the last is how I feel about Eleven. Seeing Matt Smith's Doctor in the Sarah Jane Adventures, and really liking him as written by RTD, also enjoying him during the Doctor Who Proms...well, I guess he's finally become The Doctor to me.
River Song is actually starting to grow on me. I didn't like her with Ten very much. Really didn't like her in S5-way too pushy and know-it-all for my tastes. However, in this episode, I actually felt some sympathy for her. I found her bits with fixing the Tardis, undoing what 11 did, kind of amusing (yet really irritating at the same time-but that is a writing issue, not a character issue). That said, I definitely do not want to see too much more of her.
Sorry folks. I still despise Amy. I disliked her more and more as S5 went on, and that still holds true here. Really can't wait until she is gone, and her doormat of a husband, Rory, with her. Truthfully, Rory really doesn't bother me all that much. But I don't care much about him one way or the other, so he might as well be gone.
Definitely going to take the time to watch again. And I've heard that BlogtorWho has done a great commentary to accompany the episode, so I will need to check that out too. May have more thoughts to share after another viewing.
One last thing.......stetsons are way cooler than fez'.
